King’s House of Travel opened for business on March 3, 1996 with owners Frank & Linda King successfully guiding the agency through a maze of regulations and red tape in order to obtain approval of the Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) to issue tickets for the airlines. Frank began his career in 1975 as a “bag masher” for Western Airlines at the Sea-TacAirport in Seattle. Eager to “learn the ropes”, he cross trained in many areas of customer service, including baggage handling, air cargo, ticket counter and reservations procedures. Once he learned he could stay dry and warm in reservations and work with pretty women as well; he spent the last 2 years with Western in the Reservations Department.In 1979 Frank met Shirley Smith and Herb Hadley, owners of Hadley Travel in Kelso, Washington and was offered a partnership in the firm. How fortunate can one man be to have two of the finest mentors in the business to study under? Many long hours were spent learning and practicing the art of customer service. For the next 11 years Frank toiled at his labor of love taking time off occasionally to see the wonderful world that he was selling. In 1984 Frank completed the strenuous requirements to become a CTC (Certified Travel Counselor) and is currently the only active CTC in CowlitzCounty today! He also completed requirements to become certified as a Hawaiian Island Specialist, Mexico Specialist, graduated from the College of Disney Knowledge and a Switzerland Network Specialist (first in SW Washington!) It may be apparent to you by now that Frank takes his career seriously and strives to further his travel knowledge for your benefit as well as his own!Shirley and Herb have since retired, and Frank has spread his wings to now operate his own agency. Nadine Ledford:
Born and raised in Northern California, she has lived in the Northwest since 1967 with her husband Dave and 4 children. Nadine also graduated from the InternationalAirAcademy and got her start with Worldwide Travel in 1995. Nadine has been to Italy, Hawaii, Disneyland, Cabo San Lucas, Ixtapa and Puerto Vallarta. She loved her cruise through the Inside Passage of Alaska with Cruise West and Princess Cruises as well. She is also a Travel Specialist for Branson vacations to boot! Nadine relaxes by doing cross stitch and crocheting. Nadine truly loves the travel industry and getting to know her clients, helping them to fulfill their travel dreams. Linda King:
Here is the real boss! Linda does all the accounting for the agency (as well as janitor, ticket delivery, public relations, etc!) She also has to put up with Frank! (26 years so far!) Many of you may know Linda from her position as Office Assistant at LowerColumbiaCollege for the past 23 years where she still works today (and for us in the afternoons!)
